Roll up to scenic Bayou Liberty and Olde Towne Slidell today for the Louisiana Trush for Historic Preservation's 2013 Fall Ramble. Tours will visit the historic properties of Camp Salmen Lodge, Francois Cousin House, Tranquility Plantation and Dubuisson Cemetery along Bayou Liberty. In Slidell participants will visit the Salmen Fritchie House and the Commissary. With lunch provided and an optional lagniappe/wine down to finish at the Francois Cousin House.
Speakers will include Frederick S. Ellis (author of L'Autre Côté du Lac), John Case (known in Slidell as the "Storyteller"), Ben Taylor (spokesman for Camp Salmen Nature Park), Alice Twillie (Creole geneaologist), Charlotte Lowry Collins (author and photographer of artist's book Rooted in Liberté).
