The beaded piano and its artist have traveled more than most

Artist John K. Lawson is known for his elaborate beadwork pieces, particularly with pianos. With Temptation, Lawson transformed a 1917 honky-tonk into a piece of art that has since traveled to Baltimore, New York, the Berkshires, and Asheville. “Temptation” can currently be found at Cocha restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge, while Lawson keeps a studio in Sunshine. Read Ruth Laney’s “Travelin’ Man, Travelin’ Piano” here. More on Lawson at lawsonworks.com.
