Announcing the 2017 Small Town Chefs Awards

Celebrating great chefs working culinary magic in Louisiana's small towns.

Since 2014, we’ve worked with the Louisiana Culinary Institute to identify Louisiana's most creative chefs and culinary professionals operating in towns under 25,000 people. Louisiana's unsung culinary heroes, these exceptional cooks are "off the eatin’ path." 

With our annual Country Roads Small Town Chefs Awards, that's something we aim to fix.

So we're thrilled to announce the fourth annual Small Town Chefs Awards Dinner, taking place Sunday, August 20 at the Louisiana Culinary Institute. After scouring the state from top to bottom for talented chefs and culinary professionals, our judges are now doing the difficult (but delectable) work of narrowing this year’s nine finalists down to three 2017 Small Town Chefs winners. We’ll reveal the winners and tell their remarkable stories in our July “Cuisine” issue, then invite all to meet the chefs and experience their creations during a four-course sit-down supper in the height of summer.
