Orlando: An American City

by

It’s hard to write a light-hearted travel story in the wake of this weekend’s tragedy. But one of the many ways that we can stand with Orlando is to, as we have for generations, continue to visit a place viewed by people from around the world as a uniquely American destination. As I write this, Frontier Airlines is having one of its countless flash sales with roundtrip fares there starting at less than $100 roundtrip from New Orleans. The city’s tourism website, VisitOrlando.com, has a world of lodging options including my favorite—remarkably reasonably priced multi-bedroom homes, often with a pool, that friends and family can share.

So go. Be with family. Be with friends. Be about love.
