Cajun Heritage Festival

An ode to Cajun culture, the annual Larose celebration showcases the immense talent of the region’s finest duck carvers.

The art and culture of wood carving is this festival's raison d'être, an annual celebration going on forty-two years now. This year’s fest, held the weekend of June 3–5, features a decoy show and live auction, carving demos, duck calling contests, raffles, and much more. And with a name like Cajun Heritage, rest assured—there will be plenty of jambalaya and other traditional Cajun foods on hand. 

The fest’s live auction component means that two hundred works of art will be available to the highest bidder, including contemporary decoys, antique decoys, songbirds, miniatures, paintings, miniature boats and more. Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes ranging from original hand-carved decoys to a Winchester shotgun.

An ode to Cajun culture, this festival primarily focuses on showcasing the immense talent of the region’s finest duck carvers.
