Dr. Andrew Leto describes the day he got glasses for the first time as “life-changing.” A teenager at the time, he was already falling in love with the world of eyecare and the impact it could have. “I knew it would be rewarding to provide that feeling to other people,” he said.
After completing his studies at LSU and then the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Leto returned to South Louisiana to serve the community that shaped him.
In 2021, Dr. Leto joined the team at Williamson Eye Center—where he specializes in managing ocular diseases, fitting contact lenses, and delivering comprehensive eye care. While practicing in Baton Rouge, he has also been based at Williamson’s New Roads clinic, where he discovered a passion for bringing accessible, exceptional eyecare to smaller communities outside of the Red Stick.

Dr. Leto feels that expanding to serve the St. Francisville community was a no-brainer. Today, he leads the team at Williamson Eye Center’s newest location on Gould Drive, bringing the group’s 75 years of experience within reach for patients in the West Feliciana area.
The most rewarding part of Dr. Leto’s job, he says, is the moment when the results of a successful treatment truly come into focus—when a patient’s pain or vision struggles are relieved, and when quality of life is improved. “There is no better feeling than seeing a patient for a follow-up visit, and they tell me how much better they are doing and how grateful they are for the care I was able to provide for them.”
