A hive for high culture, Julia Street is home to a number of New Orleans art galleries. The proximity is put to good use in special block parties and monthly art walks. June 1 brings an Art Walk and the opening of "A Sense of Place" at Mac Gryder Gallery. The group exhibition features gallery artists including Rolland Golden, Dean Mitchell, and David Leslie Anthony. Complimentary wine will be served. Free and open to the public (over 21 for the wine). Art Walk hours for most of the galleries are 6 pm–9 pm. (Some vary to 5 pm–8 pm.) macgrydergallery.com.
