Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be in a real-life video game? To be in a high-stakes situation, where your skills will be put to the ultimate test in order to survive, but maybe without the actual possibility of death? Imagine no further, because the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club is participating in an exciting, nation-wide emergency exercise, and invites you to be a part of the team.
The event, called the American Radio Relay League Field Day, is a 24-hour test of endurance and skill. Take part in the suspenseful fun while also learning about how to obtain an amateur radio license and start transmitting yourself. There will also be a viewing of the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn during the event at the Observatory. There is no admission fee for the event, and ages eight and over are welcome.
