ARC Plane Pull
Could you pull a jet plane twelve feet? These competitors will, and all for a good cause.
Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport 9430 Jackie Cochran Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70811
Each October, teams of twenty-five join forces at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and compete to pull a 150,000-pound FedEx 757 jet a distance of twelve feet. Why? To support the ARC of Baton Rouge, the organization that raises funds to benefit children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With trophies for “Fastest Pull,” “Most Enthusiastic Team,” and “Pokiest Pull,” the competition attracts lots of spectators and supporters, who also come to see a LA State Troopers aircraft exhibit, live music, classic cars and motorcycles, lots of great food and refreshments, children’s village, games and crafts, face painting, inflatables, climbing wall, and much more. Team participation is $50 per person or $1,250 for a full team of 25, which includes festival t-shirts and complimentary lunch for each person. Admission is free to everyone, volunteers are encouraged. To participate call (225) 927-0855 or email info@arcbatonrouge.org. 9 am–1 pm on the runway at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. arcbatonrouge.org.
