On Friday, July 26 at 8:30 pm and Saturday, July 27 at 5:30 pm on Art Rocks!, (episode #619), meet New Orleans artist Billy Solitario, who paints beautiful skyscapes with billowing clouds, as well as sea life that lurks beneath the water’s surface: the crabs, shrimp, and oysters he grew up catching as a child. See two Wisconsin artists collaborate to create unexpected sculpture out of steel and glass then visit The National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Ohio. The museum is the permanent home of one of the nation’s largest collections of Afro-American materials, with over 9,000 artifacts and artwork, 350 manuscript collections, and thousands of photographs.
