Baton Rouge March for Babies
Pennington Biomedical Research Center 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808
Starting at Pennington Biomedical Center, the 2020 March for Babies, put on by March of Dimes Baton Rouge, aims to raise awareness and funds for research, programs, and advocacy in maternal and newborn health. Two babies die every hour in the United States and a woman dies every twelve hours as a result of complications from pregnancy. African American women are four times more likely to die as a result of giving birth or birth complications. In Louisiana, these numbers are even higher. The 2.5 mile walk begins at 9:15 am. Register yourself or your team for the March for Babies walk at marchforbabies.org.
