The Center for Louisiana Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette launches its fifth season of Bayou State Book Talks, featuring local authors presenting their work. The diverse slate of the Spring 2018 season features:
- February 6: Mathé Allain, Barry Jean Ancelet, Tamara Lindner, & May Rush Gwin Waggoner, Anthologie de la littérature louisianaise d'expression française de 1682 à nos jours: An anthology of over three centuries of French literature in Louisiana.
- March 13: John Laudun, The Amazing Crawfish Boat: A fun exploration of these often home-made, home-designed, only-in-Louisiana amphibious crafts—read our review here.
- April 10: Dennis Ward, Mademoiselle Gigi and Madame Gigi: Novels loosely based on a friend of the author, starring a fun-loving Jewish Parisienne who escapes World War II and marries a Cajun. (Excellent choices, all.)
