Beethoven's classic, haunting Violin Concerto is performed by violinist Paul Huang with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by Mendelssohn’s peppy, if dignified, Symphony No. 5. As lagniappe, the Orpheum performance will also include Mark Adamo's overture to Lysistrata, the greatest of the surprisingly large number of sex farces that have survived from Ancient Greek theatre.
