Hill Memorial Library LSU, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70803
This month at the Hill Memorial Library, enjoy a presentation on "Bruce Rogers' Centaur Type” by renowned British type designer Matthew Carter to supplement the ongoing exhibit, Letterform Characters: From Stone Carver to Type Designer. A 2005 New Yorker profile described Carter as 'the most widely read man in the world' considering the amount of text set in his commonly used fonts. His four-decade long career has bridged physical type, phototypesetting and digital font design: his work includes classic web fonts Verdana and Georgia and the Windows interface font Tahoma. Free. 5 pm in Room 103 of the LSU School of Art and Design Building; reception to follow at Hill Memorial Library. (225) 578-6558 or lwood@lsu.edu.
