Professional and amateur bicyclists alike will roll out in Shreveport for its inaugural Caddo Velo Classic this spring. The two-day cycling event will raise money for cancer care, cancer education, and cancer research take place locally in Shreveport at Feist-Weiler Cancer Center.
On Saturday, riders from juniors to professionals will compete in eleven Criterium races through the day on a .72 mile tight, technical course through downtown Shreveport. There will also be a kids' ride free for ages ten and under. Registration fees vary by category, and will increase by $10 on the day of the Criterium.
On Sunday, professional, amateur, and recreational riders will join up for a community Gran Fondo ride—a 101 mile scenic route beginning in downtown Shreveport, covering a winding route north of the city through beautiful and wooded scenery. $45; Registration closes on March 27 at 11:59 pm. On site registration will be $55.
