New to downtown Baton Rouge, Cane Land Distillery sources the sugar for its rum and vodka straight from the canefields of the family-owned Alma Plantation & Sugar Mill in Lakeland, Louisiana. (There’s Mississippi-Floated Original Whiskey too, handcrafted and barreled in Tennessee before traveling downriver, literally, to Baton Rouge.)
Grab a glass and celebrate the grand opening of the new taproom and distillery at 760 Saint Philip Street. The all-day festivities include a musical line-up of Riverside, Lemon Stevies, The Quickening, Captain Green, and Boogie Long. Once in full swing, Cane Land will be open for tours and tastings on Tuesdays through Sundays. The grand opening runs from 11 am–9 pm. canelanddistilling.com.
