Crescent City Contra Dance

A relative of square dancing and English country dance, contra dance is an American folk tradition. Come to Longue Vue House and Gardens for the social occasion, as a live band plays reels and jigs. All dances will be taught and walked through by Charlene Heaton. No dance partner necessary; you'll get a new one with each dance. Lessons for beginners will be offered at 4:15 pm; the dance follows, until 7 pm. Wear comfortable shoes. $8 at the door, cash only. Light refreshments will be available.
