Debut of "The Tale of a Zulu Queen"
A new short film from the West Baton Rouge Museum premieres in time for Mardi Gras Day.
Rather than standing in a crowd fighting for beads as usual on Mardi Gras Day, cozy up on the couch for the premiere of the short film The Tale of a Zulu Queen about Rose Roche, a West Baton Rouge native who was the first woman not from New Orleans to reign over the Krewe of Zulu. The film, produced by FantomLight Productions, is offered in conjunction with the current exhibit, Queen Zulu: Rose Roché of Port Allen on display at the West Baton Rouge Museum though February 28, 2021, and will be available to stream Mardi Gras Day on the museum's Facebook page. westbatonrougemuseum.org.
