Deep within the LSU Libraries Special Collections, certain works of literature wear their status as a "book" a tad differently from the crowd. These works challenge expectations of how our stories should be encased with books in a variety of shapes, materials, and structures. The most extraordinary and magical will be on display at Hill Memorial Library in the exhibition Exploding the Codex: Book Arts in the Special Collections, presented in association with the LSU School of Art. Works by artists Amos Kennedy, Ron King, Claire van Vliet, and many more bring in a variety of printing techniques, structures, and binding types, exploring subjects ranging from playful celebration or political calls to action. Free to the public, and on display until December 13.
