Land of a hundred languages and widely ranging influences, Nigeria is the subject of today's celebration at the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville. Eva Chibuzor of the Igbo tribe of eastern Nigeria will share traditions of the Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba tribes. Learn about Nigeria’s languages, traditional dress, food, and religion. Following a children’s Nigerian dance performance, Chibuzor will explain the significance of the dance, the costumes worn, and the tribe of Nigeria which performs the dance. 11:30 am. (225) 473-8052.
