Celebrated singer Marian Anderson lent her rich, resolute voice to the civil rights movement, performing benefit concerts around the country and toppling barriers wherever she sang. Dr. Charles Vincent, Southern University history professor and Director of the Mwalimu Institute, will speak on Anderson's career and influence today at the Baker Branch Library, in celebration of African American History Month. 10 am.
