Have instrument, will travel? The inaugural Hill Country Music Fest promises to have its share of performing bands, but the goal is to bring a true-blue hootenanny to St. Francisville's Parker Park. Musicians will be dispersed throughout the park all day, leading music jam sessions, providing instruction, and encouraging anyone with an instrument to join in and play along with the music. Let no folksy genre go unturned: acoustic, Americana, bluegrass, blues, country, and "old time" are all on the docket. Beginners and professionals alike are encouraged to bring their instruments and play along. Food booths and various local eateries are within walking distance of the park. As the sun sets, two stages will light up with performances by participating professional bands, as well as jammers who want to sign up for a performance in the spotlight. 10 am–10 pm. Commerce Street at Burnett Road. 10 am–10 pm. Free.
