The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation continues its new series of free concerts celebrating the best in the city's contemporary music scene.
In February, the Foundation presents "Living the Highlife—A Night of Afropop" for which two great local bands - the Kumasi Afrobeat Orchestra and the Fufu Allstars - will share a bill for a night of West African highlife – the uptempo dance music popularized by the likes of Fela Kuti – for a special event as part of the Jazz & Heritage Concert Series. Doors open at 7:30 pm for the 8 pm show. Free admission. Dancing encouraged. jazzandheritage.org.
