LeMieux Galleries: "Birthplace" and "Cells and Cycles"

LeMieux Galleries presents two solo exhibitions to kick off a new year. Carrie Ann Baade's Birthplace traces her Louisiana ancestral connection back to the late 1600s, through which she delves into the history of her lineage—particularly the resilience of the women in her family—before further exploring the nuances of colonial disruption. She works in collage and painting for the exhibition. Kate Samworth's Cells and Cycles is populated by circles and keyholes, rooted in symbols that help access, interpret, and express the links between humanity, nature, and the divine. Her work serves as a space to dwell on grief and mortality, inviting viewers into contemplation. An opening reception will be held January 4 from 6 pm–8 pm. lemieuxgalleries.com.
