Leprosy, The Separating Sickness, a photo exhibit by Johnny Harmon, will be on display at the Jean Lafitte Historical Park's Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center in Thibodaux this summer. Harmon, who was a patient at the Carville Leprosarium just south of Baton Rouge, the only leprosarium in the United States, resigned himself to the colony when he was struck by the disease, but his photographs capture the humanity he found in his fellow patients and the life they made as outcasts from society. Gallery hours are Tuesday 11 am–7 pm. Wednesday to Saturday 9:30 am-4 pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Free admission. nps.gov/jela.
