Living with Art: Selections from Baton Rouge Collections

The LSU Museum of Art has served the Baton Rouge community as a resource for fine arts for the past fifteen years now. To commemorate that anniversary, the museum is celebrating the Baton Rouge community's own penchant for fine art. In Living with Art: Selections from Baton Rouge Collections, the treasures of nine private collectors' from the Baton Rouge area are put on display. The exhibition explores the shared creative bonds of artists, collectors, and institutions and includes a wide selection of media, periods, and styles ranging from German Expressionists to Southern self-taught artists; French Impressionism and international artists to Louisiana artists; and from painting to porcelain to bronzes and photography.
The exhibits opening reception , in conjunction with the museum's 15th anniversary celebration, will take place on March 5, featuring a gallery tour and artist commentary, champagne and hors d'oeuvres, and portraits on the spot by local artist Brad Bourgoyne.
