Masterclass with Darrell Bourque

Join former Louisiana Poet Laureate Darrell Bourque for a masterclass poetry workshop, "The Poem as Collaboration with Song, Story, Spirit, History, Prayer, and More..."  Participating writers will be guided through a hands-on set of exercises using music, song lyrics, paintings, and other prompts. No previous writing experience required. Writers are urged to bring copies of Where I Waited with them as it will be referenced and it might provide a possible template from which to enter into the work. This is not a critique workshop, but writers will be given time to share their work with their peers. The workshop will emphasize preliminary drafts and discovery, rather than finished poems.
