Baton Rouge has bolstered its Mardi Gras calendar, with the Mid City Gras parade set to unfurl down North Boulevard on Sunday, February 16. The organizers of Mid City Gras hope to follow in the footsteps of fellow non-profit 10/31 Consortium, which—despite the single date in its name—has found a way to stage charitable and just plain fun events year round in Baton Rouge. Now, Mid City Gras is a one-afternoon revel down North, celebrating the city's diversity in a trip from 22nd Street to Baton Rouge Community College, and that's more than satisfactory. 1 pm. midcitygras.org.
