Modest Mouse at the Civic

The cheerfully melancholic indie/alternative rock band Modest Mouse have made New Orleans a destination on an extensive summer tour. Front man Isaac Brock's pithy and often existential lyrics set to the band's distinctive upbeat, acoustic sound have charmed a wide audience base since they broke onto the scene in the '90s, gaining even more national attention with catchy early-2000s hits like their irreverently positive single "Float On". Their most recent album is their 2015 release Strangers to Ourselves, which is Modest Mouse's first studio album since 2007.
