NUNU "Louisiana Tapestry" Saturday Afternoon Discussion Series

Long a home for exploring and celebrating Louisiana's many diverse cultures, NUNU Arts & Culture Collective is now unveiling a new program funded by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Rebirth Grant. As a repository for the cultural transmission practices of "table" conversation, NUNU will host a series of discussions around the interwoven cultures and subcultures of our region—part of its "Diversity Initiative for Cultural Inclusion, which works in partnership with organizations and individuals working to honor these cultures in Acadiana through accessible programming. At the monthly "Louisiana Tapestry" afternoon discussions, invited speakers will lead conversations topics such as music, cuisine, traditions, and historical figures. Afterwards, Hali Dardar will moderate a Q&A and provide guiding prompts to encourage discussion. The schedule for the next five months of programming is as follows:
October 19: Contemporary Latin Communities
November 16: Indigenous Cultural Reclamation
December 14: Irish and German Immigration Today
January 18: A South Asian Louisiana
February 22: African and Caribbean Migrations
