October with the Master Gardeners
Fairwood Branch Library 12910 Old Hammond Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Come to the Fairwood Branch Library this evening for two helpful lectures from the East Baton Rouge Master Gardener (EBRMG) Association.
First up, “Understory Trees: Beautiful Additions to Any Landscape” offers advice on selecting trees to suit your needs as well as siting and proper planting. Louisiana Master Gardener (LMG) Kathy Morris says, “There are many mid-size trees to choose from whether you are trying to create shade in a smaller yard or patio, layering under larger trees, or wanting to add color, texture, or fragrance to make an interesting and pleasing landscape. “ Come learn how to choose which tree is right for your landscape and proper planting techniques.
Are you thinking about growing citrus or perhaps trying to produce blueberries? The “Citrus and Blueberries” presentation will be a hit with those who are thinking about growing these well-loved plants in their yard. LMG Leo Broders says, “You will be introduced to the specific requirements for successfully growing both and reaping the harvest of our two most popular home grown fruits.”

Don't miss: On October 24, the Master Gardeners head to the Central Branch Library for presentations including Donna Montgomery's “Guarantee Your Success… Grow Louisiana Super Plants” and an encore of Leo Broders' “Citrus and Blueberries.” 6 pm–8 pm. Free.
