Our Mom’s Restaurant & Bar to appear on The Cooking Channel

Established in Hammond in 2010, and later in Baton Rouge, Our Mom’s Restaurant & Bar has expanded in size over the years, but its mission to provide the masses with delicious comfort food has remained unchanged. On April 26, during a time of much uncertainty for small, local businesses, Our Mom’s Restaurant & Bar will be featured on Food Paradise, a nationally televised program on the Cooking Channel which takes viewers around the country for one-of-a-kind culinary experiences. On the episode entitled “Craving Comfort,” Our Mom’s will be featuring delectable, savory dishes that “offer up a warm, comforting hug of flavor.”

"Before all this happened, we had plans to have a watch party at each location, just to celebrate and ease how embarrassing it is for me to be on camera," said owner JP Ngo. "But even with all this COVID stuff going on, it's still super cool, and I'm still over the moon about it. We're focusing on how amazing it was for our customers to nominate us, and for the show to reach out. So many things had to happen for this to take place."

Rest assured that Our Mom's is still cooking its TV-famous classics in the kitchen.

"It's a tad bit overwhelming," said Ngo, "because all we do is try our best to serve good food to people. To have this kind of spotlight on us is almost surreal."
