Pelican Yacht Club open house

After over 50 years in New Roads, the Pelican Yacht Club has relocated further South on False River. Visit them at their new location to discover sailing on False River. There will be boats on the water and club members available to answer any questions about their favorite sport. Located only 25 miles from Baton Rouge and 60 miles from Lafayette, the Pelican Yacht Club offers year-long sailing. On beautiful False River, beginners enjoy the calm waters while experts will find leveraging wind shifts challenging. The Pelican Yacht Club is a safe place for families to introduce children to sailing, as False river is an oxbow lake where one is never far from the shore. Usage of club boats is included in dues, should you be tempted. 1 pm-5 pm. pycl.org.
