Calling all artists!
Julien Poydras Museum and Art Center 500 West Main Street, New Roads, Louisiana 70760
Creativity—as honored and esteemed as it (deservedly) can be—is not reserved for professionals and prodigies alone. Art really can be for everyone in the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee's Petite Gallerie exhibit. For the tenth year, the council offers artists of all ages and artistic levels a place to present their work in an encouraging environment. This year's theme is Light & Shadows. Awards will be granted in four categories: Child (10 & under), Youth (11-17), Adult (18 and over), and Photography (all ages). Winners are decided by exhibit attendees' votes.
Entries can be submitted through Pointe Coupee Parish Library branches through May 18 or mailed to: Arts Council of Pointe Coupee, Attn: Petite Gallerie, P.O. Box 669, New Roads, LA 70760, postmarked by May 24. Last minute entries can be delivered direclty to the Poydras Center on May 27 from noon–5 pm and May 28 from 9 am–4 pm.
