Sips of the Season and Christmas Past Festival
to
Mandeville, La Mandeville, Louisiana 70448
The candlelit mists of nostalgia float over the festivities in Historic Old Mandeville during the town's annual Christmas Past Festival, which is heralded by the Sips of the Season beverage stroll on the Friday evening before. Riffing on the German Chriskindlmarkt tradition, in which revelers wander the town square with a mug of warm spiced wine called gluhwein, revelers in Mandeville will buy a $20 mug from which to sip holiday cocktails served at participating shops along Girod Street (5 pm to 9 pm). Then, on Saturday, head back down to Girod for the annual Christmas Past Festival with arts & craft vendors, carriage rides, and a children’s village with Santa Claus (9 am–3 pm). Stick around from 4 pm–6 pm for Winter On the Water, which features a walking parade, the lighting of the Lakefront's pretty old live oaks, and the famous annual boat parade. All along the Lakefront, from the harbor to the gazebo. cityofmandeville.com
