The Pointe Coupee Museum, located across from lush fields of sugarcane, is the perfect place for a new exhibit, Sugar in Pointe Coupee which will highlight the part sugarcane has played Pointe Coupee agriculture; inventor Allan Ramsey Wurtele, who patented a design for a sugarcane harvester; and Alma Plantation’s role as a sugar mill.
