Tell Them We Are Rising

Louisiana Public Broadcasting presents a free preview screening of the independent documentary Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities on Monday, February 5 at Southern University. This film by Stanley Nelson and acclaimed documentary series Independent Lens showcases the powerful influences historically black colleges and universities-—like Southern University itself—have had on America's history and affecting the lives of its citizens past and present, from Booker T. Washington and Martin Luther King, Jr. to Oprah Winfrey and Common.
