At Fairview Riverside State Park's Otis House Museum, a ranger cranks the site's 1924 Singer treadle sewing machine into action for demonstrations offered Tuesdays—Saturdays throughout the month. Invented during the industrial revolution, these machines automated the job of sewing, saving time and making ground breaking progress in the art and necessity of making clothing. 9 am–4 pm Tuesdays—Fridays, 1 pm–4 pm Saturdays at 119 Fairview Drive.
