Leslie D. Rose is a journalist/creative writer and photographer from Baton Rouge, by way of southern New Jersey. She has a B.A. in mass communication from Xavier University of Louisiana.

After years of writing for various area publications, and a year and a half stint as the Editor-In-Chief of two sister newspapers, she now works in higher education and non profit public relations.

As a journalist, Leslie’s notable interviews include Chris Rock, The Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kweisi Mfume, LeAnn Rimes, Run The Jewels, Chris Tucker, Will Ferrell, Charlie Murphy, Bootsy Collins, Todd Phillips, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Roland Martin, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, and Cornell William Brooks.

As a creative writer, Leslie’s focus is primarily poetry. She has been a member of two national poetry slam teams and represented Baton Rouge individually at the 2014 Women of the World Poetry Slam, where she ranked in the upper quadrant. Leslie's work has been published and featured on various outlets, including Passages North. She is the author of the full-length journalism-inspired book of poetry - "The Newsroom." She recently contributed four scholarly articles to The St. James Encyclopedia of Hip Hop Culture, 1st Edition (2018, St. James Press).

Leslie was the recipient of the 2015 Sue Weinstein Excellence in Volunteerism Award, and a member of Xavier University's 2015 40 under 40 young alumni class. She placed second in the 2016 Louisiana Press Association Better Newspaper Contest for Best Feature Story, Division 6.
