Minden is prepping for its TV debut, as the Webster Parish seat will be one of several small towns featured on the new HGTV series Home Town Kickstart. A spinoff of the network's hit series Home Town, starring beloved Mississippi designers and married duo Ben and Erin Napier, the show follows the couple as they give six communities a much-needed boost with major makeovers meant to jumpstart a whole-town overhaul.
In addition to the Napiers, several of the network's popular experts and hosts will lead three projects in each town: refreshing the home of a local hero, upgrading a small business, and updating a public space to enhance the residents' quality of life and engender community pride. Minden will welcome Page Turner of Fix My Flip, along with Carmine Sabatella and Mike Pyle from Inside Out.
Minden community activists Sara McDaniel and Rachel Miller, who submitted Minden, says they are thrilled to be chosen. “It has been an enormous amount of work, but we are so excited for the legacy that this is going to leave for Minden,” said McDaniel. “We can’t wait to share our home with viewers who watch the show, and hopefully visit in the future.”
Aside from Minden, the other communities that will be featured are: Buffalo, Wyoming; Cornwall, New York; Winslow, Arizona; LaGrange, Kentucky; and Thomaston, Georgia. With the launch of the new series, the mega-popular HGTV hit franchise will encompass three linear and streaming shows—the original flagship series Home Town, shot in Laurel, Mississippi; Home Town Takeover which saw the Napiers and crew take on a "whole town reno" in Wetumpka, Alabama, and now the all-new series Home Town Kickstart. visitwebster.net.
