Throughout the first half of 2024, BREC is inviting the community to weigh in on how their parks system develops during the coming decade
Twenty years after the first Imagine Your Parks and 10 years after Imagine Your Parks 2, it’s time again to tell BREC how you want your parks system to be. With more than 170 parks in the system, community input is a critical component helping BREC to make judicious decisions about how best to drive improvements. Your voice is key to the park system’s future.
Throughout the first half of 2024, BREC will be offering both digital and face-to-face opportunities to provide feedback for Imagine Your Parks 3.
“Since the pandemic, and with busy lifestyles, more people prefer providing digital feedback, so there will be plenty of chances to participate in that fashion,” said BREC Director of Communications Cheryl Michelet. “But, of course, we will also offer face-to-face meetings as well for Imagine Your Parks 3.”
Projects including Liberty Lagoon, the University Lakes restoration, and Baton Rouge's growing network of walking and biking trails were all inspired by community feedback provided during BREC’s Imagine Your Parks 1 & 2. In 2024, Imagine Your Parks 3 is poised to ensure that BREC’s future investments develop the city's parks system in the manner that the community most wants.
