Celebrations are a way of life in Lafourche Parish. What better way to experience them than by joining in a vibrant fall festival—one known for lip-smacking Cajun cuisine, arts and crafts created by local makers, kids’ activities, and live music that’ll have you dancing the day (or evening) away.

From Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9, hop over to Raceland to experience true Cajun culture at the annual La Fete des Vieux Temps, or "Festival of Old Times," a beloved, long-standing celebration of music, dancing, carnival rides, and local arts & crafts. Of course there'll be plenty of authentic dishes and culinary specialties to sample, including the return of the festival's traditional Cajun Boucherie.

To savor what some say are the world’s tastiest gumbos, make your way to Chackbay for the Louisiana Gumbo Festival, an event first launched in 1971. The family friendly festival, scheduled this year from Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23, attracts thousands for homemade gumbo and other distinctive local fare, a community parade, carnival rides, live music, arts and crafts, and more.

On October 29, the upbeat Acadia Music Festival returns with well-known acts including Ludacris, David Shaw, Dumpstaphunk, and more. Thibodaux’s largest outdoor music festival features a full day of big name and local acts, artists and makers displaying their work, and a variety of tasty eats served from food trucks and local restaurants.

Savor the flavors of Cajun French Louisiana at the annual French Food Festival in the town of Larose from Friday October 28 through Sunday, October 30. This delectable gathering includes live music from regional bands, arts, and, of course, food. Among not-to-be-missed items are savory pastalaya and jambalaya, red beans, white beans, fried seafood, and the festival's signature Boucherie Burger, which comes piled high with grillades, gratons, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and pickles. Prepare to loosen your belt!

There’s more gourmet cuisine to be sampled in downtown Thibodaux on Friday November 11, when more than 30 regional chefs compete during Big Boy’s Main Street Cook Off. Chefs from up and down the bayou will face off for top honors while offering samples to attendees while live music plays.

Then on Saturday, November 12, it’s time for one of the biggest and most beloved events along the bayou, the award-winning Thibodeauxville Fall Festival, a spirited gathering of more than 180 makers that attracts 15,000 visitors from across the Gulf South. Alongside original arts and crafts, Thibodeauxville features several stages of continuous live music, children’s activities, a car show, delicious food, and a rubber duck race along Bayou Lafourche!
