Weekends in Shreveport have never been more colorful and fun than the Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you'll spend in Rainbow City. It’s a vibrant, imaginative, pop-art style city of 40 giant inflatables that has delighted crowds in Hong Kong, New York, Miami and Toronto, and is now coming to Shreveport from November 2 to December 8.
Friday nights are for dancing in Rainbow City from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Friday, November 8: Rainbow City kicks off Common Groove Weekend with Tipsey the Band
Friday, November 15: Rainbow City hosts Pace Rainbow Weekend with “That Girl DJ”
Friday, November 22: “The Interns” take the stage
Friday, November 29: Disco 3000 with DJ Lomax and friends
Friday, December 6: Friends Fest in Rainbow City with Space Kadet and Ryan Visor
Sundays are brunch days with gourmet chefs and live entertainment, from noon to 3 pm.
Sunday, November 3: Brunch and Brass on the Ave by Sylvester Marshall with Southern Fork Catering
Sunday, November 17: Pace Rainbow Brunch by Kristi Tift of Retro Downtown Café
Sunday, December 8: Balderas Brunch with Chef Gabriel Balderas from Cabo Verde
Saturdays and Sundays are also a great time to “get your health on” in Rainbow City with events hosted by Ochsner Health System/LSU Health Shreveport. Every Saturday from November 9 to December 7, 11:45 am to 12:45 pm, you can work up a sweat to any of four different workouts on the hour. Sunday is yoga day, November 10 to December 8 at 3pm. And every weekend you can shop the arts market and eat from local food trucks.
Rainbow City is located in the Common Park, 869 Texas Avenue, Shreveport. The park is free and open to the public. Dynamic programming fills every day of the six-week festival. Friday dance nights and Sunday brunches are ticketed events. Check www.friendswithyoushreveport.com for details.
