1,000 Books Before Kindergarten at Lafourche Public Libraries

In September, the Lafourche Public Libraries are kicking off their 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten literacy program, which aims to have young children experience a diverse range of books before even setting foot in the classroom. Throughout the year, the library will host various programs, story hours, and other events to help parents reach this goal with their children—as well as to celebrate the achievements of the young participants. Children can enroll any time during the year. Kickoff events in September will be held as follows :
September 1 at the Lockport Branch, 10: 30 am.
September 12 at the Gheens Branch at 10 am.
September 13 at the Raceland Branch at 11 am.
September 14 at the Thibodaux Branch at 11:15 am.
September 15 at the Larose Branch at 2 pm and at Choctaw Branch at 10 am.
September 19 at the Bayou Blue Branch at 10:30 am.
