to
Located in the heart of Cajun country, the annual eight-day Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival, now in its sixteenth year, is Louisiana's second-oldest film festival. Cinema on the Bayou is dedicated to presenting internationally acclaimed narrative, documentary, experimental, and animated films from across the United States and around the world. Each year, the festival screens some two hundred films with as many filmmakers, actors, producers, and other industry professionals in attendance for film screenings, expert panel discussions, and nightly parties with music by regional musicians. The festival is also unique among film festivals in the country in that it regularly presents a large number of French-language independent films and filmmakers, and has become known around the world as a center of Francophone film in America. Details on this year's festival, which will be held virtually with some in-person events, can be found at cinemaonthebayou.com.
