Join author Peggy Scott Laborde for a presentation on her new book The Fair Grounds through the Lens: Photographs and Memories of Horse Racing in New Orleans (Pelican, 2016). The thunder and excitement of the race has long drawn visitors to the Fair Grounds, where legendary horses have raced to victory. The history of one of America’s oldest thoroughbred horseracing tracks is chronicled here through interviews, rare photographs, and archival lithographs.
