To mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of UNO’s Ethel and Herman L. Midlo Center for New Orleans Studies, historians and descendants will discuss the legacy of the 1838 sale of 272 enslaved people by the Jesuit leaders of Georgetown University to plantations in Louisiana. Raphael Cassimere will moderate the discussion with Cheryllyn Branche, Adam Rothman, and Sandra Green Thomas. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
