A Universe of Stories: Summer Reading Program

The East Baton Rouge Parish Summer Reading Program promises out of this world programming all summer long for readers of all ages. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the very first moon landing, join the library for a slate of stellar shows, galactic prizes, and books books books.
Children ages 0-11: When a child reads a minimum of five books by Thursday August 15, they will receive a certificate, a free book, and more. They'll also have their names entered into a drawing for $50 gift certificate.
All summer long, parents and guardians can pick up registration material in the Children's Room at any Library location. For more information, call (225) 231-3760
Teens in grades 6-12: If teens read any six regular books, or 18 graphic novels and submit their reading logs by Thursday, August 15, they'll receive six Library Bucks, a drawstring backpack, a stylin' alien keychain, and a mini rocket launcher. In addition, for every three regular books, three programs attended, or line of Summer Reading Bingo completed, they'll get entered into a weekly drawing for prizes including autographed books, a virtual reality headset, and more. The top reader across East Baton Rouge Parish will receive a Kindle Fire Tablet bundle.

Adults 18 and up: Adults can enjoy programming throughout the summer on a variety of topics. Read three books and receive a summer prize pack!
