October at the Abita Springs Opry
The Abita Springs Opry is devoted to preserving Louisiana's indigenous music in all its guises.
Abita Springs Town Hall 22161 Level Street, Abita Springs, Louisiana 70420
The Abita Springs Opry is devoted to preserving Louisiana's indigenous music in all its guises. Arrive early and join the folks who've made a ritual of enjoying gumbo, hot dogs, and homemade pastries, not to mention the pre-show sound checks and front porch concerts. It all adds up to the good ole' family atmosphere that the Opry strives for. The lineup for October 20 at the Abita Springs Town Hall includes:
Chris Talley and the Three Rivers Cooperative: You never quite know what this tough act to follow will bring to the stage.
The Slick Skillet Serenaders: High energy, bluesey, catchy, and very rhythmical jug band.
The Affordable Bluegrass Act: Low cost, high value.
The Cotton Mouth Kings: A Frenchmen Street favorite.
After every show, many of the musicians gather at the nearby Abita Brew Pub to jam. Performance begins 7 pm. $18. (985) 892-0711 or abitaopry.org for details.
