Looking back on more than 250 years of history, this celebration of all things Acadian—or Cadien (Cajun)—centers in Evangeline Oak Park, where there'll be jambalaya, gumbo, cracklin demonstrations, theatre, Cajun dance lessons and music, mask making, storytelling, Longfellow readings, kids’ activities, and more. A re-enactment will take place commemorating the historic arrival of the deported Acadiens into Attakapas Territory, with members of the Benoit and Savoie families to be honored at the festivities. 9:45 am–4 pm.
